Some things you just can’t put into words, and pictures do make a better explanation! So here was Day 1 of our El Nido tour!
I am counting down the days until we set foot in Palawan once more, this time to see El Nido. I love Palawan. I have been to Puerto Princesa twice, once with my husband and the next with the whole family. I have also been to Coron with the Superfriends. This time, it’s going to be just my husband and I to El Nido because The Superfriends couldn’t go. But I know we are going to have fun!

We are planning to go the National Museum on Sunday because I want to see the Spoliarium, the “Mona Lisa” of the Philippines. It is a painting done by Juan Luna that won awards in Barcelona, Spain. It is, according to Wikipedia, ‘the Philippines most prized painting.”
How dare I call myself a Filipino and not go and see a national pride and treasure! And what kind of mother am I if I do not encourage my kids to see this?
The above screen shot is of the 360 view of the Spoliarium. While it is very beautiful (but difficult on the eye), there is no substitute for the real thing.
To celebrate the Philippine’s 116th year of independence, Cebu Pacific is offering a P1.16 to all domestic and international flights, for travels on October 2014-March 2015. Do you have a destination in mind, or a place you haven’t been to? Buy your ticket now! Me, I can’t, hahaha. I have 2 tickets for this year and next already.
Yesterday, after a heavy lunch at Brasas in Podium, we went searching for coffee or dessert. Dessert won of course, and everybody went straight to Sebastian’s Ice Cream. It was my first time, so I did not know what to expect. Everybody started ordering and when I looked at the menu, I was curious about the Chilly burgers. My friend pointed at it on the chiller, and I got the Choco Dough Duo. On the first bite, I was in heaven! I took a picture first, and then after I was quiet. My friend asked what is the problem and I said, this ice cream deserve my full attention! It was yummy! Good thing Podium is farther from my office than Robinsons Galleria so I won’t be tempted to have this for dessert everyday!
What a yummy discovery! Sebastian’s is located at the 4th floor in Podium, near the escalators.
I have been to several places in the Philippines and if asked about my Top 10, my list would be, in reverse order:
- Batangas (aside from it being my hometown, I love the mountains and the beaches!)
- Mt. Pinatubo (who would have thought that something so destructive could be so beautiful as well!)
- Ilocos Norte (my husband’s hometown, I was surprised that this was such a beautiful place!)
- Cagayan De Oro (too many places to visit and to many things to do!)
- Davao (great food, great place, great people!)
- Cebu (a city of rich history!)
- Bohol ( a delight for Catholics with its many churches, hopefully they can be restored!)
- Boracay (white sand, great sunset, great party!)
- Mt. Pulag, Benguet (Playground of the Gods!)
- Coron, Palawan ( if there is one place in the Philippines that you have to visit, for me, this is it!)
We have been to Puerto Princesa, Palawan for two times already, first as a couple and then as as family just last year. But when a seat sale came up last year and I asked my husband where he wanted to go this year, he said Palawan! I guess he read my mind because this time, we are going to El Nido. We have been to Coron already so El Nido is the next destination. This is for the end of next month and I am excited already. I will start planning as soon as I get busy with work. Yep, I do my itineraries when I am busy because it calms and inspire me, hahaha!
Love the food, love the people, love the place! I want to go back to Davao!
